Challenge
A medical company approached Advantage Converting with a multilayer wound care concept that would regulate and manage exudate. The company needed assistance with everything from material selection to processing. If the company could successfully manufacture the dressing, it would be the first and only self-regulating, super-absorbent fiber wound dressing.
Solution
From initial R&D to full-scale production, Advantage Converting helped design, develop, and manufacture the company’s concept for an advanced wound care dressing. Our engineers helped the customer select super-absorbent materials and developed an innovative approach to thermally laminate and die-cut the materials for various sized dressings. The result is a dressing that senses the underlying tissue’s physical conditions, adapts to provide optimal treatment, and effectively absorbs massive amounts of exudate from the wound. After successful R&D trials, Advantage Converting transitioned from pilot line to full-scale production volumes on a dedicated manufacturing line.
